My god, it's been so long since I've permitted myself the whimsy of a poem. It's been book review after essay after short story after novel chapter for months now...and that's good. But I'd forgotten how much I miss assonance and dissonance, rhythm, and rhyme. I've missed this means of PLAY.
Glad I could take a moment, today. And over the next few days and weeks, perhaps I'll revert back to the daily poem challenge--not because it always produces great poetry, but because it keeps me playing, which is an end in itself.
